Smile Content - Wedding Day Content Creation

The moments are happening. Make sure you get to keep them.

Edited reels, story clips, and candid photos delivered The Next Day

WHAT IS A WEDDING DAY CONTENT CREATOR?

A wedding day content creator works alongside your photographer/videographer, doing something completely different. Think fly-on-the-wall. Not the formal coverage - the getting- ready chaos, the look between you two that nobody was officially watching for. Guests having fun. The in-between moments.

All of it captured in a relaxed, candid style, then edited into reels, story clips, and photos that are ready to share within 24 hours of your wedding day.

THE DETAILS: Our Package Options

Every package includes edited reels ready to post, candid photos from the day, and caption suggestions — all delivered via a private online link within 24 hours (48 hours for full day bookings).

This is phone-shot content, captured and edited with the same tools and techniques used by professional content creators - not amateur phone footage.

The Difference

Why not just ask a guest to film it?

You could. But a guest is also trying to enjoy your wedding. They're not thinking about lighting, framing, which moments will actually perform on Instagram, or how to edit a reel that makes people stop scrolling.

This is a specialised skill. And having someone whose only job on the day is capturing your content means you actually get it - without asking a favour of anyone.

FRANKIE J.png

Hi, I'm Frankie - co-founder of Smile & Celebrate and Smile Photobooth, and the person who will be at your wedding capturing content for your social media.

I'm not a social media enthusiast who picked up a phone camera one day. I've been creating professional video content on smartphones since 2012 - before most people thought that was even possible. Since 2015 I've been teaching businesses and government departments how to do the same through Get Ahead Media.

My work has been published by Stuff.co.nz, the Northern Advocate, and Newswire. I've filmed corporate events, produced promotional video for major brands, and won multiple awards at the NZ 48 Hours Film Competition - including Best Female Director (twice).

Before all of that, I spent two years as a professional wedding videographer, and several years as a wedding and family portrait photographer.

All of that experience shows up in the content I create for your wedding day.

Got Questions?

We've got answers - and if you don't see yours here, please reach out. We'd be happy to chat through how this might work for your wedding or event.

Is a content creator the same as a videographer? No — and it's an important distinction. A wedding videographer produces a full cinematic film of your day, typically delivered weeks or months after your event. A content creator produces short form, social-ready reels and story clips designed to be posted within 24 hours. Both have their place — and many couples book both.

Will you get in the way of my photographer? Never. We work alongside your photographer and other suppliers seamlessly. We brief ourselves on their position and timing so we're complementary rather than competing. Most photographers enjoy having a content creator on-site because it means more coverage of the day overall.

What equipment do you use? We use professional quality cameras and audio equipment suited to the fast-moving, changeable conditions of a real wedding day. All footage is captured and edited to the highest quality for social media output.

What if I don't have Instagram or TikTok? No problem at all. Content can be delivered in any format and is yours to share however and wherever you choose — privately with family and friends, on Facebook, or kept purely as a personal keepsake of your day.

How far in advance should I book? As early as possible — particularly for peak Northland wedding season from October to April. Popular dates fill quickly and we can only take one booking per date. We recommend enquiring as soon as you have your date confirmed.

Do you travel outside of Northland? Our primary service area is Northland and the Bay of Islands. For events outside this region please get in touch and we'll discuss travel requirements and any additional fees.

What's the process to book?

Getting great wedding day content shouldn't add anything to your stress levels. Here's exactly how the process works from booking to delivery:

Step 01 — You enquire.

Get in touch with your wedding date, venue, and a rough idea of which package interests you. We'll come back to you to discuss availability, answer your questions, and talk through any specific moments you want captured. We can either organise to meet via Zoom as well if you'd like to meet 'face to face' :)

Step 02 — You book.

Once we've confirmed your date and package, we'll send through a booking confirmation and invoice. A deposit secures your date. The balance is due before your event.

Step 03 — We connect before your day.

In the lead up to your wedding we'll be in touch to discuss your run sheet, your venue layout, any specific moments that are important to you, and how you'd like the content to feel. The more we know beforehand the better the content.

Step 04 — We arrive.

On your wedding day we arrive ready to work — quietly and professionally, moving through your event without disrupting it. We work alongside your photographer and other suppliers seamlessly. You won't need to direct us. You won't need to think about us at all.

Step 05 — We capture everything.

Throughout the day we film the moments that matter — the real ones, the unscripted ones, the ones that happen in the gaps between the posed photographs. We're looking for the laughs, the reactions, the energy, the in-between moments that define how your day actually felt.

Step 06 — We edit.

Straight after your event we get to work editing. Every reel is cut to trending audio, colour graded, and formatted for social media. Within hours of your wedding you'll receive a private online link with everything ready to go. Download, post, and watch your community light up with messages about your day.
